| Dead | 15 Apr 2005 Berrien Springs, Berrien County, Michigan, USA1) | BERRIEN SPRINGS -- Joyce Marie (Mohlmann) Jones, 81, of Berrien Springs, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at her home following an illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Pioneer Memorial Church on the campus of Andrews University, Berrien Springs, with Dr. John R. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at the Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to the Neighbor to Neighbor community services. Joyce was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Bethel, Conn., the daughter of George B. and Bertha (Sandstrom) Mohlmann. She graduated from Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, Mass., in 1945. She married Harold T. Jones in Bridgeport, Conn., on Aug. 23, 1953, and they moved to Berrien Springs, where they worked with Andrews University -- Joyce as an elementary teacher and academic editor for more than 50 years and Harold as a mathematical professor for 40 years. Joyce also served as director of the Community Services Center for many years, and she was a charter member of the Blossomland Doll Club, remaining very active until her illness. Gardening, reading, baking and sewing were some of her leisure enjoyments. Her church membership was with Pioneer Memorial Church. She is survived by a daughter, Meredith Jones (Gary) Gray; a son, Bruce D. (Lolita) Jones; and two grandsons, Liam Trainer Jones and Jeremy James Gray, all of Berrien Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Harold, who died on May 10, 1995. |
