Clifford Abramson, 89, of Bethany Home, Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Franklin Grove, Ill. died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Bethany Home. Memorial Services will be held 2 pm Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Bethany Home where friends may call Thursday from 1 pm until time of service. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Dubuque, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
Clifford was born November 4, 1921 in Bancroft, Iowa, son of Lawrence and Teckla (Soderberg) Abramson.
After graduating from St. Charles High School he served in the US Navy during WW II. He married Evelyn Swedberg on June 7, 1952 in Sycamore, Illinois. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2006.
He retired as a Chief Engineer from the State of Illinois in 1980. He enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Clifford is survived by two daughters, Nancy (John) Ferry of Dubuque, Iowa and Sandra (John) O¿Rorke of Oregon, Illinois; and a brother, Marvin Abramson of St. Charles, Illinois.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Douglas.
Memorials may be given to Bethany Home.
