GREEN BAY - Carl Pavia, 87, formerly of Racine, was born to eternal life on Friday, March 22, 2002. Carl was born to life November 9, 1914, to the late, Angelo and Maria (nee: Pasquelin) Pavia. Carl was married to the former Alice Johnson on August 24, 1940, in Racine, she preceded him in death in 1988. Carl served as a board member, missions secretary, choir member and Sunday School teacher in churches in Racine, Kenosha and Sun City, Ariz. He was an elder and charter member of Bayside Christian Fellowship. Carl retired from J.I. Case in 1977 a Director of Administrative New Products Division. He then moved to Sun City, Ariz. where he lived until 1994. In 1994 Carl moved to Green Bay to live with his daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Rev. Arni Jacobson. Survivors include a son, Rev. Joel (Rosalie) Pavia of Waupaca; a daughter, Janet (Rev. Arni) Jacobson of Green Bay; four grandchildren, Sheralee (Joe) Singer of Hortonville, Brett (Sina) Pavia of Springfield, Mo., Rev. Chad (Amanda) Jacobson of Green Bay, and Brooke Jacobson of Green Bay; two great-grandchildren, Tristan and Denver Singer; four brothers, Caesar (Margie) Pavia of California, Dewey (Marian) of Pavia of California, Bob (Bonnie) Pavia of Arizona, Danny Pavia of Florida; four sisters, Adel (Roy) Brandseth of Arizona, Pearl Piggins of Racine, Yolanda (Bill) Naleid of Kenosha, Lily (Wendell) Hoatson of California; two sisters-in-law, Mary and Genevieve Pavia; and many nieces and nephews also survive. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; two brothers, Nick and Michael Pavia, and a sister, Margaret Koetting. Memorial service will be held at the church on Monday, March 25, 2002, at 2 p.m. with Revs. Joel Pavia and Arni Jacobson officiating. Interment in the Graceland Cemetery, Racine. Friends may call at Bayside Christian Fellowship, 3475 Humboldt Road, Green Bay Road, on Monday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. A memorial fund has been established. Carl's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Highland Healthcare especially, Connie Charles, for all their care and compassion shown to Carl.
